	What is fertigation? When admiring the fairways and greens of some of the world's best golf courses, have you ever wondered how they keep them so green and lush? Now you can know their secret to a beautiful green lawn. It's fertigation, a hybrid between fertilizer and irrigation. Fertigation is the practice of applying fertilizer by using an irrigation system. While there have been some primitive home-fertigation systems available on the market, many of these systems have been lacking in a few areas such as flexibility and accuracy. SarTec has solved these problems and is happy to introduce the SarGreen fertigation system for home use. SarGreen is manufactured by SarTec Corporation based in Anoka, Minnesota. SarTec is a family owned business that has over 20 years experience in precisely micro-dosing products into liquids. Building on experience of using computer controls to precisely meter liquid products, we have solved many of the problems of past systems.

			How it works? SarGreen starts by applying fertilizer on a square foot basis, not by water volume. This can only be done when you have a "smart system." SarGreen uses a computer to precisely control the amount of fertilizer applied, by zone, to achieve the optimal levels. The amount of fertilizer used is dictated by you, the customer. The system can be tailored at the time of installation to meet your specific needs. A benefit of fertigation is the ability to reach the optimal amount of nitrogen in the grass itself by actually lowering the amount of fertilizer applied. This is accomplished by a more consistent addition of the fertilizer through the irrigation system in combination with SarTec’s yucca-extract based fertilizer, SarGro Plus. SarGro Plus is a special blend of fast release fertilizers and SarGro, a natural wetting agent that helps the water to penetrate the soil and the root of the plant. SarGro has also been shown to be a natural root stimulant which will help build a stronger healthier plant, making your grass much more drought and disease tolerant.
