What is Yucca?

Yucca is a plant that thrives mainly in semi-arid climates including the Southwest U.S. and Mexico. The yucca extract used in SarTec’s products comes from the Yucca Schidigera plant and contains saponins, a food grade surfactant. Saponins help increase the rate of water penetration into grain and have been shown to have anti-protozoal properties. The anti-protozoal activity of saponins are attributed to the saponins ability to interact and bind with cholesterol in protozoal cell membranes, thereby causing cell lysis.
